Donations for Our Programs
In Spanish, please go here.
Before proceeding please read this important disclaimer.
Our Community Library Anacaona
costs approximately US$1,500.00 a
month to operate under ideal
conditions.  At the present time it runs
under US$500 a month.  We depend
on donations to keep it open and on
volunteers to run it (see more
here).
Contact José Bourget at 809.386.3086
or write to
correo@fundacionmahatmagandhi.co
m if you want to help.  You may use the
green form at right as well.

Use the convenient PayPal button at
right to donate.  Unless you specify
otherwise all donations will go to pay
for program operations.  So far we've
used 100% of all donated money for
program implementation and we plan
to keep it that way.  Please notice that
the PayPal button at right is for a
personal account that it's being used
until we secure government
recognition for non-profit status.

If you live in the United States and wish
to obtain a receipt for tax purposes
please contact our partner
organization, A.C.E.S. North America,
with whom we work in education and
health projects.  Send your donation
directly to them writing "FMG" on the
memo line.  Their address appears
below or click
here for their Website.

Book and Materials Donations
The library will periodically organize
activities for children, youth and adults
aimed at creating additional access to
books and to creative learning
activities (see example
here).  The
summer of 2006 was the starting point
for reading, geography, history and
English language olympics, as well as
for day camps and other enrichment
programs that was repeated and
enhanced in
2007, and will occur
again in 2008 (go
here).

Idées et indications:
As it is often the case for organizations in two-thirds of the world (otherwise
known as "third world countries), we lack adequate funding or resources, hence
our need for help where it can be found.  If you are planning to come as a
volunteer and are able to bring or mail some resources, find below some of the
things that would help our enrichment, educational and social programs to
become more successful.  Bring them along with you or ship them if you can.  In
the case of books only, they can be sent as M-Bags of up to 66 pounds (rate is
$12 for the first 11 pounds and $1.05 for each pound thereafter).

The address to send books to is:

You may use the PayPal button at right for a direct contribution.  Also, we have a
partnership relationship with
ACES North America for educational and health
projects and are grateful for their support to our programs and services.  Each
organization collaborates in the goal of bettering the quality of life of the people
we serve.  Their organization has 501(c)3 status in the United States of North
America and they can accept your monetary donations as well as ship
equipment and materials to them for delivery to us in the Dominican Republic.
We follow strict IRS rules and donors are instructed to mark their monetary
donation for "Fundacion Mahatma Gandhi Projects" which allows us to use the
funds for all areas of activities of the Foundation.

If you have a particular interest in one of our current service areas (
here), or in
our desired service areas (
here), please make sure to earmark your donation
for that purpose.  The Fundación Mahatma Gandhi does NOT pay salaries or

Similarly, we can help provide beds, furniture, kitchen utensils, kitchen
appliances, cribs, computers, gardening equipment and other materials to the
poorest people in the community.  Such donations can be sent to ACES'
storehouse but, please, before sending any large equipment consult with us
first to see the possible use of it as space in containers for shipping to the
Dominican Republic is tight and sending of materials depends on available
space.  Write us at
correo@fundacionmahatmagandhi.com.
