Engaging and interactive presentations in
larger groups.
10-11:30 am WORKSHOPS
Most workshops will last a day and will
change every day with all facilitators doing
the same but adjusted to age level as
attendees will break out by age groups.
Same group remains with same facilitators
throughout the week.
11:30-12 STAFF MEETING
Check-in, evaluations, problem-solving,
prep work for following day.
Fridays 11:30-2:30, TEAM MEETING
Evaluation and planning for the following
week, including training in activities chosen.

Theme: Time to Grow
Audiende: kids 6-15 years of age.
Focus Areas: recreation and
personal growth
“Time to Grow,” to grow in the world,
in the community, in the family, as a
person. These four dimensions are
embedded in all activities and
functions.
Why these camps?
- To create meaningful and positive
activities for children and youth;
- To provide a safe and productive
environment for children and youth;
- To offer alternative and wholesome
recreation for children and youth.
Operational Philosophy
Camps will help in:
- Strengthening self-esteem
- The development of social and
psycho-motor skills
- Bettering individual and group
behavior
- The development of a strong
sense of community
- The creation of environments
conducive to personal growth
Implementation
The workshops will take place in the
morning, planned in advance, using
available resources, at the library and
Yann Verdina school, using
volunteers and other support
personnel.
Staff Training
June 25
Charlas
First week: focus on the world
(geography and cultures);
Second week: focus on the
community (environment);
Third week: focus on the family
(health and hygiene);
Fourth week: focus on the
individual (my talents)
Workshops
A toolbox of 30 activities will contain
all daily activities for facilitators,
chosen from selected books and
from each facilitator's experience
and talent. Examples:
- Kids: coloring, drawing, simple
kites, coloring, play-dooh, finger
painting, floor sidewalk chalk
drawings, puppets, collages
(magazines), musical
instruments, collecting leaves,
planting in plastic bottles, beads
collar making.
- Kids and youth: candle-making,
mural painting, flower
arrangements, drama and
theater, weaving, masks, kite-
making, power-word painting,
costume design, recycled-paper
stationary.
- Sports: will depend on available
talents and availability of
volunteers. To be decided along
the way.
